We have spent some time creating a worm farm for our school. I want you to research 5 facts about; 'Why is a worm farm a good thing to have?' State your facts in a comment under this post:) Make sure your facts are in your own words.
By cameron They are a natural fertiliser. They are a place were worms live and if we didnt have any of them they would be every where. There is no use of chemicals. The worms can be used in aquariums for feeding fish and birds. They help to keep our environment healthy by keeping our landfills down

1) A worm farm should never get to wet but only be damp. 2) If it smells it means you are feeding it to much. 3) If cockroaches and ants are invading your farm then it needs to have the lid inserted properly our needs to be secured better. 4) If the worms aren't breeding the worm farm needs to be moved to a shady place around 18-25 degrees. 5) Acidic conditions can be caused by to much sugary foods like fruits and grains to solve the problem you can sprinkle some dolomite, ash or lime and it should help it
its useful for: 1.making your own organic fertiliser and stops water pollution,reduces landfill expansion 2.you save fuel used to transport waste to the landfill, 3. you could save money on the brown bags, 4. the less methane means the less greenhouse gasses,5. its easy and fun plus stops global warming by locking the carbon in the soil.
1 Choose a nice place for them to live and make sure it is not to hot or cold.2 Poke about twenty holes into the box.3 Place about 10cm of bedding into it.4 Cover the bedding with Hessian, newspaper and carpet.5 Once the worms have been burrowed for to two to three days you can start adding small amounts of kitchen scraps
